Our History
CMH Services was founded in 1968 in Columbia, SC, as Carolina Forklifts. The company began as a dealer for Datsun lift trucks (the name was later changed to Nissan) and focused on the sales and service of these trucks until 1980.
In 1980, Crown narrow aisle and pallet trucks were added to our product line, thus allowing Carolina Forklifts the opportunity to offer its customers a lift truck model for just about every application.
Responding to an expanding market and our customer's increased needs in 1997 Carolina Forklifts expanded its focus from primarily lift trucks to include all other material handling products such as conveyors, personnel carriers, shelving and racking. To reflect this larger commitment to serve its customers, Carolina Forklift's name was changed to Carolina Material Handling Services.
We adopted the acronym CMH Services as our official name in 2005.
